DOMINIC ALLDIS (singer & pianist)
Dominic Alldis began his musical career in 1985 as resident pianist at London's celebrated cabaret venue, Pizza on the Park. During a two-year residency he played opposite many of the world's leading jazz and cabaret artists including Blossom Dearie, Dave Frishberg, Bob Dorough, Steve Ross and Sir Richard Rodney Bennett; as well as many celebrated jazz pianists including Dave McKenna, Roger Kellaway and Teddy Wilson. In 1996, he released his first album - Turn Out The Stars (CANZ CD1), a vocal tribute to the legendary jazz pianist Bill Evans. In 2000, he released a second album - If Love Were All (CANZ CD2), jazz arrangements of songs by NoŽl Coward. In 2002, he released a third album - Watch What Happens (CANZ CD3), featuring the songs of Michel Legrand. All three albums have received rave reviews and are available through amazon.com In 1996 Dominic wrote a highly successful book A Classical Approach to Jazz Piano, published worldwide by Hal Leonard Corp. In 1993, he joined the staff of the Royal Academy of Music and this year was made an Honorary Associate (HonRAM).
This year Dominic will be back at Pizza on the Park as well as leading tour around the UK with a jazz ensemble and string quartet featuring the music of Michel Legrand.
