Albert is the composer of many Broadway musicals including "Plain and Fancy" and "Redhead" for which he received a Tony for the best score. "Redhead" is having a wonderfully successful revival at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam Conn. He recalls stories about such artists as Geaorge Abbott, Bob Fosse, Allan Sherman, Dorothy Fields etc. thus, the gossip. For television, he wrote the songs for the well-known CBS Special, "How the Grinch Stole Chirstmas" in collaboration with Dr. Suess. If Albert looks familiar, its because for 7 years he starred as Professor Shorofsky, the irascible, music teacher in the film and the internationally successful series, "Fame".
